To be a wildlife artist is a very personal process, a silent engaging with the world around you, moments of inspiration leading into the process of creativity, sketching images and exploring composition, detailed studies of the subject and its surroundings. And then the complex process of creation begins, of quiet times in the studio whilst the artwork is metamorphosized out of colour or clay, a process of synthesizing inner creativity and inspiration with the constraints of technique and materials until the image is captured, and the work released from the studio. Usually it is only when the artwork is displayed that the process becomes visible to the wider world, the final stage of a long journey.
As an artist I live for these times, right from the moment of inspiration up until the finished work sees the light of day. But in-between much happens, and usually there are thoughts and questions which evolve as I work through the creative process, and I felt it would be an interesting exercise to share aspects of this journey through a Blog. I will set no definable parameters for this process, only that I will attempt to publish a post of a new artwork as it is released from the studio at the end of each week, probably on a Tuesday.
A Tuesday! you might exclaim, that is not the end of a week, but rather close to midweek. But the week of a wildlife artist is undefinable, nature is always around us, and inspiration does not fit into five days, and neither does the process of creativity. So Tuesday is good for me, and I hope you will subscribe to the Blog, for on Tuesday you will then receive a brief notification telling you that there is a posting, and a new artwork.
I hope you will enjoy sharing this process with me…

Hey Noel, this painting is just awesome. It is a beautiful work of art and evokes all sorts of emotions. Uncertain is such a perfect title. I can’t tell you how impressed I am. You’ve set the bar pretty high for 51 more!! Good luck Michaela
